Yeah, that was me too – until I stopped dieting for good and finally dared to eat…as much as I wanted, when I wanted, without guilt, and in total freedom.
I didn’t learn to do this overnight, though.
I could stop dieting easily enough — “falling of the wagon” of dieting came easy to me. But years of dieting had blunted my internal cues of eating regulation, and I still harbored so much guilt around food and how it might affect my weight.
I still suffered mightily from diet-mindset, even though I wasn’t dieting anymore. And it was affecting the way I ate and how I felt about myself.
So I had to learn the skills of normal eating because I’d been ignoring my appetite and food desires for so long. It took a long time as I muddled through all the advice of the non-diet approach of intuitive eating.
And that’s why I created this program — to save you from all that muddling and get you on your way to a life free of food preoccupation restricting, binge-eating, and weight worries.
This program is for you if you:
- You’ve decided you want to stop dieting and drop the weight struggle…but aren’t sure what to do next
- Can’t yet describe your relationship with food and eating as normal or peaceful
- Are new to the concepts of intuitive eating, but are having trouble implementing them
- Have been working at becoming an intuitive eater for a while, but feel like you are stuck, or maybe aren’t doing it “right”
- Like to read and ingest knowledge in bite-sized chunks
- Are ready to do a little bit of work each day to further your progress
In this course, you will learn how to:
- Ditch the diet-mindset for good
- Tune into your hunger and fullness instead of relying on external cues for eating
- Make peace with forbidden foods
- Address chronic overeating, emotional eating, and binge eating
- Deal with negative thoughts around food and your body

I’ve designed the program for busy people who don’t have more than 15-20 minutes in their day to actively devote to this process. If you’re willing to put in a little bit of consistent effort, you’ll be rewarded with some amazing results when it comes to your eating.
How it works:
You’ll get an e-mail daily for 25 days, Monday through Friday, each one a step in the process of ditching diet-mindset, normalizing your eating, and accepting your body. Each e-mail contains vital information and a hands-on activity where you actually get to practice the mindful eating skills you need to get free of the diet mindset and eat in freedom. The activities are simple and often a part of something you already do every day – like eating!
At the end of the program you will be able to:
Embrace the Non-Diet Approach
- Describe why dieting hasn’t worked for you
- Identify your personal reasons for choosing the non-diet approach
- Discover how the non-diet approach will help you achieve your eating and self-care goals
Use Mindful Eating Techniques
- Use hunger/fullness awareness techniques to help to determine your eating stopping point
- Recognize and confront negative self-talk that undermines intuitive eating
- Employ mindful eating techniques to reduce superfluous and emotional eating
- Identify food fears, rules and restrictions, and use mindful eating techniques to overcome restrictive eating
Prioritize Non-Diet Self-care
- Determine personal weight-neutral eating goals
- Identify cognitive distortions around weight and how to counteract them
- Set weight neutral goals for self-care
Week 1 – Introducing the Non-Diet Approach
In week one, you’ll explore and solidify your motivation for pursing the non-diet path; identify your personal reasons for rejecting diet culture; start to improve your acceptance of larger bodies; and formulate personal non-weight focused goals for eating, movement and self-care.
Week 2 – Stepping into Permission
You’ll get down to the eating in week two and work on planning, permission, dealing with fears around weight, and confronting guilt. You’ll start practicing hands-on mindful eating skills.
Week 3 – Mindful Eating
Then you’ll get really intimate with your meals with a guided mindful-eating experience; you’ll use that experience during an actual meal; identify cognitive distortions around food and eating and diffuse them with mindful self-talk; observe your hunger and fullness signals; and learn how to decide what to eat.
Week 4 – Honoring Body Sensations
In this week, we’ll cover some eating obstacles and go further with hunger and fullness by exploring binge-eating episodes with compassionate mindfulness techniques, assessing hunger and fullness during a meal, and allowing hunger and fullness sensations to guide your eating.
Week 5 – Non-Diet Self-Care
In the last week, we’ll talk about how to improve your body acceptance with self-care techniques, and identify personal factors influencing superfluous/emotional eating. Then you’ll put all the mindfulness techniques together for a meal, and identify areas for further work in achieving internally regulated eating and body acceptance.
This isn’t another diet or weight loss plan. This is about healing your relationship to food and your body. You’ll learn the skills you need to do those things, and you’ll practice them a little bit every day.
