Yeah, that was me too – until I stopped dieting for good and dared to eat…as much as I wanted, when I wanted, without guilt, and in total freedom.

I didn’t learn to do this overnight, though. I had to learn the skills of normal eating because I’d been ignoring my appetite and food desires for so long. It took a long time as I muddled through all the advice of Health at Every Size® and the non-diet approach of intuitive eating.

And that’s why I created this program — to save you from all that muddling and get you on your way to a life free of food preoccupation restricting, binge-eating, and weight worries.

This program is for you if you:

  • struggle with learning how to eat normally
  • like to read and ingest knowledge in bite-sized chunks
  • are ready to do a little bit of work each day to further your progress
  • want access to an expert to guide you along the way

In this course, you will learn how to:

  • ditch diet-mind for good
  • tune into your hunger and fullness
  • eat more intuitively
  • address overeating and binge eating
  • deal with negative thoughts around food and your body
  • …and more!

I’ve designed the program for busy people who don’t have more than 10-20 minutes in their day to devote to this process. If you’re willing to put in a little bit of consistent effort, you’ll be rewarded with some amazing results when it comes to your eating.

How it works:

You’ll get an e-mail daily for 25 days which that walks you through the process of ditching diet, normalizing your eating, and accepting your body. Each e-mail contains vital information and a hands-on activity where you actually get to practice the mindful eating skills you need to get free of the diet mindset and eat normally. The activities are simple and often a part of something you already do every day – like eating!

Program objectives:

At the end of the program you will be able to:

  • Embrace the Non-Diet Approach:
    • Describe why dieting hasn’t worked for you
    • Identify your personal reasons for choosing the non-diet approach
    • Discover how the non-diet approach will help you achieve your eating and self-care goals
  • Use Mindful Eating Techniques
    • Use hunger/fullness awareness techniques to help to determine your eating stopping point
    • Recognize and confront negative self-talk that undermines intuitive eating
    • Employ mindful eating techniques to reduce superfluous and emotional eating
    • Identify food fears, rules and restrictions, and use mindful eating techniques to overcome restrictive eating
  • Prioritize Non-Diet Self-care
    • Determine personal weight-neutral eating goals
    • Identify cognitive distortions around weight and how to counteract them
    • Set weight neutral goals for self-care

Weekly objectives:

Week 1 – Introducing the Non-Diet Approach
In week one, you’ll explore and solidify your motivation for pursing the non-diet path; identify your personal reasons for rejecting diet culture; start to improve your acceptance of larger bodies; and formulate personal non-weight focused goals for eating, movement and self-care.

Week 2 – Stepping into Permission
You’ll get down to the eating in week two and work on planning, permission, dealing with fears around weight, and confronting guilt. You’ll start practicing hands-on mindful eating skills.

Week 3 – Mindful Eating
Then you’ll get really intimate with your meals with a guided mindful-eating experience; you’ll use that experience during an actual meal; identify cognitive distortions around food and eating and diffuse them with mindful self-talk; observe your hunger and fullness signals; and learn how to decide what to eat.

Week 4 – Honoring Body Sensations
In this week, we’ll cover some eating obstacles and go further with hunger and fullness by exploring binge-eating episodes with compassionate mindfulness techniques, assessing hunger and fullness during a meal, and allowing hunger and fullness sensations to guide your eating.

Week 5 – Non-Diet Self-Care
In the last week, we’ll talk about how to improve
your body acceptance with self-care techniques, and identify personal factors influencing superfluous/emotional eating. Then you’ll put all the mindfulness techniques together for a meal, and identify areas for further work in achieving internally regulated eating and body acceptance.

This isn’t another diet or weight loss plan. This is about healing your relationship to food and your body. You’ll learn the skills you need to do those things, and you’ll practice them a little bit every day.

See what people are saying about Dare to Eat!

I am in recovery from binge eating but at one point, my eating patterns started to resemble a diet. I knew diets didn’t work and I needed a balanced approach to eating. This is exactly what the course gave me. I now have the tools to put food in its proper place while enjoying it to its fullest. -Briana

This course was perfect for me! The daily emails introduced small incremental changes that built my eating awareness without being overwhelming. The coaching calls were a great opportunity to ask questions and learn from others’ experiences. I highly recommend this course to anyone who wants to ditch dieting and learn to listen to body cues! -K.C.

The first thing I loved about the course is that it was very well put together and I could tell a lot of time and thought had been put into the progression and format. It made sense.  When it comes to courses and educational programs, being a teacher has given me high expectations and a good sense for when something has been crafted and well thought out. As far as this course was concerned, I was completely impressed!

I really liked the idea of taking little steps towards change and then allowing it to become second nature, and I have certainly found these changes have filtered through to become second nature as promised. But also, taking smaller steps was much less overwhelming than some of the other material I’ve come across, while still being as profound and personally impacting.

The conference calls were super helpful. It was amazing to be able to benefit from your personal support, Glenys, but also to hear from the other participants. I really appreciated their questions and points of view as well.

As far as value for money, this course was outstanding. I’ve needed something like this for a while, as I’ve felt stuck in a rut with this process in recent times, and this was the first time I had come across a course that was accessible to me financially. Thank you for making this possible!

Lastly, and certainly not least, I really enjoyed your manner, Glenys. You were very friendly, encouraging and positive throughout the course. I also really appreciated your sense of humor as this really appealed to me, and your ability to be both professional and very honest and real was fantastic. It’s been a privilege being able to get to know you a little bit. As a (shy-ish) extrovert, being in contact with people who are friendly and personable energizes me and engages me in what’s going on. -E.C.

Top notch course! This was a very interesting course. Made me stop and think about issues that I hadn’t considered before. The exercises were easy to incorporate into my daily life. I feel very confident that I can continue on with them and the other lessons that I learned. Highly recommend this course to anyone looking to stop their endless cycle of dieting and learn to embrace their true self. -M.P
